If you are researching a specific (public) companies' supply chain linkages, particularly as it relates to their ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) or CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility), then Bloomberg or Factset's Supplychain modules can be helpful.
Factset - http://www.library.vanderbilt.edu/eres?id=1720
- Any current Vanderbilt student, faculty or staff member can access FactSet for academic and non-commercial use.
- Users must initially register for a personal account - some times this can take a while so get in touch if you don't get access in a timely manner.
- Works best on PCs (vs. Macs). Download the PC only desktop app or use the browser version.
Bloomberg terminal: For more supply chain info, you can also try using the Bloomberg terminal.
- Undergraduate student access is provided through Central Library. (you have to use the workstation on site):
- Owen graduate student access is available at the Management Library.
For both options access requires:
-
Create account using vanderbilt email
-
Using the workstation onsite
Some training/overview info on Vanderbilt libguide: https://researchguides.library.vanderbilt.edu/finance/bloomberg
To find supply chain information from within Bloomberg:
-
Equity APP > SPLC Function
-
See further guidance on getting started at the U.S. Dept of Commerce libguide: https://library.doc.gov/c.php?g=1257152&p=9211692
Refinitiv also offers an ESG Dashboard. Search for a company, then navigate to the ESG tab in the submenu. This database also requires registering a personal account with Vanderbilt email. Learn more here.
NexisUni - one of the Sources covered by this library database is CSRHub which includes ESG scorecards for specific companies. This is a quick option, easy to navigate and does not require individual account set up.
