How can I search by ISBN?
Last Updated: Oct 17, 2025     Views: 414

You may search the Library's Collections or limit to Library Catalog (limits to all items held at Vanderbilt) by ten-digit or thirteen-digit ISBN (International Standard Book Numbers) numbers simply by entering the ISBN number in a search. Click on Advanced Search to the right of the all-search box to get to a row with Library Catalog as a search option (select it by clicking on the radio button).

ISBN numbers are unique and included in most, if not all, database records for the library's books.  When searching by ISBN, be sure to omit spaces and hyphens.
