How can alumni access databases from off-campus?
Last Updated: Dec 09, 2025     Views: 3072

When on campus, alumni are able to access many of the library’s electronic resources. In addition, the library offers remote, off-campus access to a select group of specially licensed alumni databases. To secure remote access, alumni will need a VUNet ID.

All Vanderbilt users, including alumni, are required to use multi-factor authentication (MFA) via OneVU powered by Okta to access library resources. Please see the OneVU Onboarding instructions to set up your OneVU account. A VUNetID is required to create a OneVU account. Alumni without a VUNetID may request one through the Ask a Librarian service. (Note: To expedite the request, please indicate the school from which you graduated, and your year of graduation.)

Allumni VUNet IDs must be renewed annually.

Vanderbilt alumni are eligible for access and borrowing privileges to the Vanderbilt Libraries. If you are in the Nashville area, you may obtain a card to access the libraries during restricted evening hours. Cards for University alumni are issued by Vanderbilt Card Services. Please see their website for more information.

The Card Services office is located at Sarratt Student Center, Suite 184.
